10 December 2017 – Church Newsletter

Today is the 2nd Sunday in Advent and time for our pop-up nativity.

This is an opportunity for everyone to participate in the re-telling of the Christmas story. If you haven’t been able to sort an outfit for this morning, then please make use of the costumes available here in the sanctuary.

Please do enter into the spirit of the story this morning, although do not feel you have to perform !

And of course if you are visiting then do speak with one of the welcome team to find out more about our church and the activities we are involved in. Complimentary refreshments are available after the service, so stay and meet some more of this morning’s stars (or angels or shepherds!), young and old.

Denise’s amazing One Mission Christmas cards are on sale for that very special touch for Christmas giving. Unique, amazing and the perfect way to send your greetings to friends and family whilst supporting our One Mission funds.

Go on you know you want to! 🙂

Christmas Giving

During some of our special Christmas services we Will be taking the opportunity to give to others. We will be giving our offering today to the Bible Society who devised the material for today’s service. And our Christingle offering will go as normal to the Children’s Society.

Prayers

Christmas is a busy time for many. Please pray for those who struggle with families and busyness. Pray for those who live near you that they will remember the true meaning of Christmas. Pray for our services and events during the next few weeks; for those taking part, organising and for those who come along.

May the gift of Jesus continue to bring wonder and change lives.

Help please!

The plan is to make the Christ-ingles in the morning of the 23rd at Church 10.00am…

At the service we will need people to light the candles in the church and also distribute the Christingles…

And given all the flames we would appreciate it if we could have 3-4 volunteers to be fire marshals (all that requires is a bucket, water and a dream of being a firefighter, IF NEEDED of course) . Please see Jason if you can assist—thanks

More help please!

We hope to serve some lovely mince pies and drinks after the carol service on the evening of the 17th. To make this happen we need some scrummy mince pies and some volunteers to help serve the drinks! Please bring along some mince pies on the morning of 17th so we can get ready and if you can help with refreshments then please mention it to Paul Stender.
