26 November 2017 – Church Newsletter

This morning Jason concludes our series examining ‘Fruitfulness on the Frontline’ and Lauren leads our music.

Powerbase, our groups for younger worshippers have their various sessions after we spend some time all together in the service this morning. Today they will be building up to Christmas by looking at how God came and visited Mary.

Lift up your Hearts in Praise!

If you would like to know anything about what goes on here today or what our fellowship gets up to, then please do ask one of the welcome team who met you as you came in this morning. And do take time after the service for refreshments and the chance to catch up, maybe even speaking with someone you don’t know much about!

The Greatest Journey

Our Nativity service on 10th December will feature the Bible Society’s ‘Pop Up Nativity’. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved and tell the story of the greatest journey. So come along dressed as shepherds, angels, wise people, Mary or Joseph to help us out. There will be costumes available (mainly for our younger participants) from 10am if you haven’t one of your own. We will also need some cuddly barn animals to help build the manger scene during the service, so come prepared and ready to participate in this whole family affair.

Big Church – one week to go

Just one week until our special advent BIG CHURCH event so please be ready and pray for this very special service. We also ask that you might think about who you might invite along and be prepared to see what God can do as you step out in faith. Also in the run up to the service we would like your help please!

Please could you collect:

  • Scrap bits of material
  • Small glass jars (herbs or spices size)
  • Garden foliage

The material and jars can be brought to church anytime and given to a member of the team (Jason, Claire, Ros, Chris, Sarah or Bex).

To keep it fresh please could foliage be brought on the morning of the service.

The Wave Café

Our café operates as part of The Wave Centre and offers a wide range of tasty treats, refreshments and wholesome meals.

Open weekdays 9am—3pm

The café now has it’s own facebook page, so be sure to ‘like’ to keep up with all the latest menus and offers.

Taster Sessions

Over the past few weeks you have heard a lot about the work the church does with young people and children and you may of thought you could get involved but don’t know how or what it involves? Well we would like to offer anyone the chance to try a taster session to see what happens and that will hopefully make up your mind to give it a go! If that is an idea you would like to explore further please speak to either Jenny Giles or Sue stender and they will be happy to help you out.

Christmas Meal

You’re invited to come and enjoy a Christmas meal together. We’ll be going to Worthing Indoor Bowls Club in Field Place for a banquet on 9th December from 7pm. See the back of the church for menu choices and Elain for booking. Yum Yum!

Christmas Decorations Help

You’ve probably noticed that Christmas is fast approaching! We’ll be decorating the church on Monday 4th December from 2pm. If you can help out in any way, we’d love to see you. Please see David or Linda Rockall for more information. Thanks!

Pray

Unfortunately Peggy took a tumble out in Broadwater yesterday and has suffered some knocks, bruises and a couple of broken fingers. Do pray that she mends well and fast… thanks.
