Jason & Lauren lead our service this morning as we continue to explore the parables of Jesus.

Initially we will be all together and then our younger worshipers are invited to attend one of the various ‘Powerbase’ groups.

We also will be sharing communion together this morning. We invite all who are able to declare that Jesus is Lord to join us as we share in this sacred meal. We take and eat from the bread that is shared and hold on to the individual cup to drink together. Please note the wine is not alcoholic and gluten free wafers are also provided.

Please do stay if you can after the service for refreshments, for which there is no charge. Our welcome team are also available to assist should you have any questions about our fellowship and activities.

AGM & Election of Deacons

Our Annual General Meeting takes place on Tuesday 27th March 2018 7:30pm at the church. In keeping with our constitution, elections will be held at the AGM to fill the vacancies on the diaconate. Our constitution allows for up to 9 deacons to be in position, each serving a term of three years and being allowed to serve three terms before having to stand down for a period of at least one year. This year there are five vacancies arising.

The following nominations have been received.

  • Ros Russell
  • Lauren Rycroft
  • Linda Ford
  • Ted Jackson
  • Paul Stender
  • Barbara Seale
  • Lois Ford

Church Members are asked to vote for those candidates whom they believe could serve the church well as deacons and Charity Trustees. The election of deacons will be by secret ballot at the AGM; there will be the opportunity for postal votes to be included if received by the Church Secretary by 25th March.

Members shall vote for no more than five candidates, there being 5 vacancies. Those five candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared to be elected provided that each candidate also receives votes from at least 50% of those members voting.

We’re Going for a Walk!

On Easter Monday the invite is to everyone to come and join in our usual Easter Monday walk. And the good news is that you don’t even have to walk to be able to join in the fun!

This year we’ll be based at the Gladys Bevan Hall in Upper Beeding. The walking party will set off in the morning and explore the beautiful Adur Valley before returning to enjoy a picnic lunch at the hall (please provide your own picnic). Then we have a few activities including Easter Egg hunt before finishing with cream tea and scones mid afternoon. Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church to help with crowd control!

The Wave Café

Our wonderful café serves a wide range of tasty treats, refreshments and wholesome meals. It’s normally open weekdays 9am—3pm. However, this week it will be closed all day, both Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd whilst the team prepare for Thursday’s funeral.

Bring & Share Lunch

After the service on Palm Sunday, 25th March, we will be having a bring and share lunch. It’s a great opportunity to share together as a fellowship. The arrangements are quite simple, just bring along something yummy, sweet or savoury, enough to go round you and any hangers on you may have invited. Then we put all the contributions together and share out amongst us. There are a few chores to be done and it would be good if the usual suspects don’t have to do the washing up, so volunteers please see Sue or Angela. But whatever your circumstance, please do come and enjoy lunch together.
