2 July 2017 – Church Newsletter

Welcome to BIG CHURCH- the one where we’re All-In!

The service this morning will be led by The BIG Church Team with help from some familiar friends!

In our worship today will look at the theme of DEDICATION as we celebrate and give thanks for Freya Grace Stender in an act of infant dedication.

WHAT? Today, we’ll be finding out what Jesus had to say about little children and their importance in the Kingdom of God.

HOW? Through God’s Word, music, drama, discussion, being still, moving, creating, thinking, writing, not writing, doodling, watching, listening… and more!

PREPARE… Come ready to encounter and be changed by God and grow in relationship with Him. PRAY… That the Holy Spirit will inspire and challenge you and that Jesus will be the focus of all our worship. Pray too for Adam and Bex as they seek to bring up their children, Joshua and Freya, in a life of faith.

FINALLY… As always, we encourage you to fill up the church from the front and pray that you will leave the building challenged and changed.

All-In Sync Questions

  • Why do you think Jesus used the analogy of the little children in the story today?
  • How can we be more like little children in the way in which we accept the love and forgiveness of God?
  • What stops you from accepting God’s gifts with childlike faith? How can you change this?

Psalm 8

  1. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.
  2. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
  3. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
  4. What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
  5. You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour.
  6. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet:
  7. all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild,
  8. the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
  9. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
