Jason, Sarah and Paul lead our service this morning.

It’s great to have you with us as we worship, reflect and consider our faith together. If you have any questions then please ask one of our welcome team. Do stay if you can for refreshments after the service, for which there is no charge and also our shared lunch. Powerbase, our series of groups for youngsters, continue their sessions after the first part of the service.

This week is known as Holy Week, culminating in the weekend that changed the world. Do take the opportunity to join in one of our special events this week as we look forward to next Sunday when we join together to celebrate God’s amazing resurrection power.

AGM & Election of Deacons

Our Annual General Meeting takes place on Tuesday 27th March 2018 7:30pm at the church. In keeping with our constitution, elections will be held at the AGM to fill the vacancies on the diaconate. Our constitution allows for up to 9 deacons to be in position, each serving a term of three years and being allowed to serve three terms before having to stand down for a period of at least one year. This year there are five vacancies arising.

The following nominations have been received:

  • Ros Russell
  • Lauren Rycroft
  • Linda Ford
  • Ted Jackson
  • Paul Stender
  • Barbara Seale
  • Lois Ford

Church Members are asked to vote for those candidates whom they believe could serve the church well as deacons and Charity Trustees. The election of deacons will be by secret ballot at the AGM; there will be the opportunity for postal votes to be included if received by the Church Secretary by today.

Members shall vote for no more than five candidates, there being 5 vacancies. Those five candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared to be elected provided that each candidate also receives votes from at least 50% of those members voting.

We’re Going for a Walk!

On Easter Monday the invite is to everyone to come and join in our usual Easter Monday walk. And the good news is that you don’t even have to walk to be able to join in the fun!

This year we’ll be based at the Gladys Bevan Hall in Upper Beeding. The walking party will set off in the morning, 10am and explore the beautiful Adur Valley before returning to enjoy a picnic lunch at the hall (please provide your own picnic). Alternatively come and join us after 12noon just for the picnic and then we have a few activities in the afternoon. The church will probably be open and we’ll have an Easter Egg hunt before finishing with cream tea and scones mid afternoon. Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church to help with crowd control!

Jason & Stuart’s Funeral

Ever since the news came to us on 11th February of the tragic accident in the Grand Canyon, all at BBC have acted to support each other and the Hill family. No more so than hosting the funeral this last Thursday. Thanks are certainly due to so many who made it happen. The whole fellowship used their various gifts to host an enormous number of visitors as if it happened every day. This ensured that the family’s wishes could be followed through and everyone could share in the service. Thank you to all that have given and continue to give of their time and prayers through these days and weeks.

Do continue to pray for David, Sandra and all those impacted by these events. Pray particularly for those who don’t have the knowledge of faith to comfort. Thanks to the fellowship’s hard work and love we have shown God’s light into these tough times. We pray that through the grief, lives will be changed for eternal good.
