Be still and know that I am God – Psalm 46:10
We gather to worship our amazing God. This morning we will think a little more on the privilege of life with God. Ruth, Peter, Sarah and Paul all help to lead our service this morning as Jason and Claire come to the end of their holiday.
Powerbase, our series of groups for youngsters, go off to their sessions after the first part of the service.
We hope you feel comfortable on our premises and receive a warm welcome. Stay if you can for refreshments after the service, for which there is no charge. This leaflet gives you some idea of the activities in our fellowship; but to know more our welcome team or any of the regulars can give you a much better picture of life at BBC 🙂
If you found the subject interesting this morning, then here are some bible references that may continue to inspire.
Hezekiah prayed about the Assyrians and just one Angel delivered freedom. 2Kings 19, 2Chronicles 32.
God is more than we can ever imagine. Outside of our understanding of time ané space. John Iv1-5.
God is so amazing that he is simply known as ‘l AM’. Read how God introduces himself to Moses Exodus 3v14. We can actually know this God. Jesus talks of being born again (John 3), God’s Spirit living in us John 14v17. Paul confirms this promise when he writes Romans 8v11.
And God confirms this by speaking to us Romans 8v16.
The Spirit working in our hearts, transforms us from the inside out, not by what we do, but by who we are Romans 12v2.
Then as we experience God’s love for us as Paul prays Ephesians 3v19 we are more able to share this love as Jesus commanded John15v17.
So to truly be the person we should be, we need to get to know Jesus better 2Peter Iv3-11.
A Prayer
Almighty and loving God
The world around me calls for my attention. Do this, do that, be this, be that.
I get confused, I get angry, I get fearful.
My hands form into tight fists,
I cannot open my hands to receive anything.
When I hang onto tight control,
When I close off my heart and my spirit, I cannot receive your blessings for me.
In this moment, I will be still
In this moment, I will breathe
In this moment, I will open my hands to let go I let go of all thoughts and concerns.
I let go, so that I might receive.
Letting go in this moment,
I receive your loving presence around me and within me.
May your Spirit dispel fear and bring peace; May the overwhelming feelings yield to love and courage.
By letting go may challenges give way to guidance and clarity;
May I embrace life. May I be.
I let go and trust You.
I still my mind and know you, the great I AM.
Be Still and know that I AM God.
Amen
